MEDICARE REBATES
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. In order to access this, you will need to make an appointment with your general practitioner and request a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Under this plan, you may be eligible for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year.
The rebate for Clinical Psychology is $145.25
This leaves an out of pocket expense of $ 104.75 per session.
PRIVATE HEALTH REBATES
Private health : if you have extras cover for psychology, your private health fund may offer rebates, but you will need to check with your health fund.
HOW THEY'RE PROCESSED
Medicare rebates can be processed at the end of each session, with payments made to your bank account usually on the same day.
TELEHEALTH SESSIONS
If attending a telehealth session, your credit card details may be used on the day of the session to process payment. This can be done using the remote facility of my EFTPOS device.
