Psychology FAQ
You can either email me by sending a message from my website or send a text to my mobile phone.
I always have a conversation with people before making a first appointment, to discuss your needs and make sure we’re a good fit.
After an initial phone call, I will offer you an appointment time and ask you to fill out two short documents including a Contacts Page and Credit Card Details page with your basic information.
It would be helpful if you are able to send these back to me by email, but you can also bring these with you to our first appointment.

Standard sessions are 50 minutes long.
The first one or two sessions can be longer, to allow time for information gathering as part of the initial assessment.
Frankston (address supplied after making an appointment)
If you are coming under Medicare, please remember to bring your doctor’s referral letter and the Mental Health Plan (the latter is not essential, but the doctor needs to have filled it out for you to get the Medicare rebate).
Please bring your Contacts sheet and Intake questionnaire if you have not emailed these beforehand.
The session fee is payable at the time of the appointment.
I prefer bank transfer through PayID (I can guide you though this at the first appointment), but I can also accept credit\debit cards or cash.
After an initial assessment (this can take a couple of sessions or longer), I endeavour to find a regular appointment time as soon as I can.
It is preferable to maintain continuity rather than attend sporadically in the early stages of our work together so that I can get to know you and explore what approaches may suit you best. However, every person’s situation is different, and I’m also realistic and flexible.
sound healing FAQ
Sound healing is based on the principle that everything in the universe, including our bodies, is in a state of vibration. Each organ, bone, and cell in the body has its own resonant frequency. When these frequencies are in harmony, the body is in a state of health. However, when the natural balance is disrupted, it can lead to physical and mental ailments.
Various tools and techniques are employed in sound healing, such as tuning forks, singing bowls, gongs, drums, and even the human voice. These instruments produce specific frequencies that can interact with what traditional modalities refer to as the body's energy centers, or chakras, to restore balance and promote healing.
An introductory session is an opportunity to test out how sound healing might work for you. I have a large range of methods that I draw from – both from standard psychology and ancient traditional approaches to tailor a unique approach that feels right for you. You can also come to a group session to try out the modality.
Sound healing has been found effective in:
- Stress reduction and relaxation
- Balancing energy centers (or branches of the nervous system); regulate nervous system
- Enhanced mood and emotional healing
- Improve anxiety, depression, or emotional trauma
- Improve symptoms of chronic health conditions (such as Parkinson’s Disease)
- Improving sleep
- Enhancing cognitive function (promoting alertness, focus and creativity)
- Pain management and physical healing
Mind-body connection (heightened self-awareness assists therapeutic approaches that draw on mindful self-awareness)
Sound instruments may be woven into traditional talking therapy as an adjunct or may be the focus of the session.
In both cases, the sessions start with some discussion of what you want to get out of the sessions.
Your ideas and thoughts about healing are important to clarify even in a full sound session, as the sound tends to supercharge whatever you bring into the session, consciously and unconsciously.
The sound part of the session starts with a short relaxation and visualization process, usually connected to your intention for change or transformation.
A single instrument is used to assess the biofield surrounding the body (or energy centres associated with different parts of the body).
I then work with a variety of instruments in, and if you are comfortable, on your body, to help balance the body’s biofield or energy centres, guided by our discussion and what I discover in the biofield assessment as well as my own intuition.
The session ends with a short chat to integrate the experience.
Apart from this general structure, every session is unique as it is tailored to individuals’ needs.
I work with a variety of instruments including Tibetan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, drums, rattles, shakers, chimes, voice and silence.
No special preparation is required before the session, but if you wish, you can think about what you would like to address or change in your life. However, we can also spend some time at the beginning of the session clarifying this.
Wear comfortable clothing and avoid too many buttons or metal pieces as this may interfere with placing instruments on your body.
Sound healing is non-invasive and very low risk, however as with any form of treatment, there are contraindications. We will discuss these in more detail at your first session.
If you experience sound induced epilepsy, sound healing is not recommended.
If you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, some adjustments that may need to be made.
