ABOUT ME
I have been a practising Clinical Psychologist and psychotherapist for over 35 years.
I am also a certified sound healing practitioner at Sound Healing Academy International, with a background as a piano teacher and musician.
Currently I work with individuals and groups in private practice on the Mornington Peninsula where I complement standard treatments with sound healing modalities where appropriate in my purpose-designed studio.
I have trained in a broad range of modalities, from standard psychotherapies to sound healing and modern technologies. Rather than seeing these as competing, I seek to integrate Eastern and Western, modern and ancient, to find the common threads between these different traditions in order to help people find a pathway to recovery and healing with the best of all worlds.
Previously, I worked in public mental health for 8 years followed by nearly two decades as a private practitioner and consultant to individuals, groups and organisations – hospitals, clinics, schools, and large organizations.
In my psychotherapeutic work with individuals, I am trained and experienced in long-term or depth psychotherapy to help people find new ways of relating to themselves, others and the world around them.
Training
My training includes postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology and a 4 year training in Psychoanalysis. I have also trained in modern mindfulness-based, meditative methods. I am well-versed in both short-term, structured interventions, as well as longer term psychotherapeutic work if needed.
